Temporary Cart and Bin Service

Starting July 1st, 2011 Recology Del Norte will expand it's Temporary Bin service to include a 10 cubic yard open top debris box, as well as, a new 64 and 96 gallon cart service.

You are required to visit our office one full business day prior to the expected delivery. Please bring a valid ID card to set up your account. If you are a business you can set up a credit account for billing by completing the credit application and supplying a business license. This must be completed in advance of renting the temporary cart or bin service.

Contact us either by phone, email or visit us at our office. You are responsible for any service rendered until your account is closed by you.

All Temporary Cart and Bin service is based on a 1 week rental period, with a removal on the seventh day. Any bins on site for any reason after the seven day period will be charged a rate of 25% of the original rental price for an additional week on site. Any Cart or Bin that is unable to be removed due to overfull or improper items will be charged a 10% return fee based on the rental price. All Trash, Recycle and Brush guidelines apply to the Cart and Bin rental service.

A 64 and 96 gallon temporary cart service will be added for extra trash collection. With this service you will receive a trash cart and the same size Recycle cart for seven days.

Trash Cart
Everything that you place in the Trash cart goes directly in a landfill.

Recycle Cart
You can conveniently place all your recyclables into one wheeled blue cart!

Place carts in the street for Pick up by 6 am on your seventh rental day. Please insure that the cart is not blocked at the time of removal; and that the lids of your carts are closed, all trash is bagged, and your cart is not over full, to prevent material from falling out as it is removed. Any carts that are over full will be left and a return fee will be applied

By utilizing the temporary single-stream recycling bins you can potentially decrease the size of your temporary trash bin and lower the cost of your service.

Technical Assistance

Metal Bins
2, 3, 4, and 6 cubic yard bins have lids and locking bars. These bins can be rented for extra trash, recycle and brush collection service.

Anything that can't be recycled or composted goes into the gray trash cart or gray trash bin.

Remember, anything that is placed into the trash goes directly to the landfill.

Now, with single-stream recycling, you can place all your recyclables: newspaper, junk mail, magazines, office paper, paperboard and cardboard in with your plastic, Styrofoam, aluminum and glass containers into one wheeled blue cart or blue labeled recycle bin.

Recycling brush is a highly effective way to help protect the environment.

Don't send landscape materials to the landfill; recycle them instead!

On average, approximately 200 pounds of brush items are dumped annually from each Del Norte County household every year. That waste decomposes and creates methane gas, which is 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide and is directly attributed to climate change.

You may be able to reduce your Trash service fees if a successful Brush collection program is in place. We accept leaves, brush, grass, flowers and tree trimmings (6" diameters x 30" length) in the brush collection cart.
