Recycle Cart for Single Family Residents

With single-stream recycling, you can place all your recyclables: newspaper, junk mail, magazines, office paper, paperboard and cardboard in with your plastic, Styrofoam, aluminum and glass containers into one wheeled blue cart.

Please separately bag these items for recycling before placing them in the recycling cart:

• Styrofoam, block or molded, bagged and tied shut
• Styrofoam packing peanuts, bagged and tied shut
• Bubble Wrap, bagged and tied shut
• Plastic bags, bagged and tied shut
• Envelopes, junk mail opened, and multi colored paper, bagged and tied shut
• Shredded paper, bagged and tied shut

Metal

• Aluminum cans
• Aluminum foil, cleaned and bailed
• Caps and lids from bottles, jars and steel/tin cans
• Steel (tin) cans

Cardboard and Paperboard - (non-waxed)

• Egg cartons
• Cereal boxes, Flattened
• Corrugated cardboard, Flattened
• Detergent boxes, and paper towel rolls, Flattened
• Soda or beverage boxes, Flattened
• Paper Milk and juice cartons or boxes
• Pizza boxes, no food

Plastic - (no black bags or black plastics)

There are several items that we can't take in our recycling program, but we don't want to see them end up in the landfill either. Visit our Hard to Recycle section to learn more.

In addition to Recycle cart collection, Recology has community drop-off locations throughout the county. If you have more than you can fit in your cart and need to recycle these items sooner than your next week's service you can bring them to one of our drop-off locations or to Julindra Recycling located at 1039 Harrold Street, Crescent City.
