Bulky Item Collection Program

Recology Del Norte offers a special pickup service for large or bulky items from your curbside. Couches, mattresses and washing machines are examples of bulky items which are too large to be disposed of with your normal collection.

If you have been a residential customer with weekly garbage collection service for over three months, Recology Del Norte will collect bulky items from your house for free. Bulky items include couches, mattresses, televisions, large appliances like washers, dryers, ovens or up to 1.5 cubic yards of bagged materials. For eligible customers, this free collection service can include one refrigerator or freezer or two bulky items per year. Extra bulky item collections are available for just $7.41 each.

For those who like to haul their own trash or just have more than the curbside service will allow, you can haul it to the Del Norte County Transfer Station yourself. The Del Norte County Transfer Station, Gasquet Transfer Station and, Klamath transfer Station accept residential and commercial recyclables and trash. Prices are posted at each location. The Del Norte County Transfer Station also accepts washers, dryers, refrigerators, tires, brush, televisions and computer monitors, metals and the recyclable household hazardous wastes.
