Brush Guidelines

• RV and Apt. Managers; call with pick up location
• Pick up scheduled on regular service day
• One pile per customer, 6 feet long, 3 feet wide and 2.25 feet high
• Place on the street side of the curb by 6:00 a.m.
• Do not use trash cans or bags
• Separate grass/leaves from tree limbs/brush (6' long x 4" in diameter)
• Trash is NOT part of the Spring Clean Up service

Each spring Recology will be accepting items for the Spring Clean Up collection. Each residential customer may place up to 1.5 cubic yards of extra Brush items during the May Spring Clean Up week. This is in addition to the Brush Collection service. All Multi-Family residential facilities will also be eligible to put out Brush items for spring clean up based on the size of their service. Each Multi-Family residential manager will need to contact our office to schedule the location of the pick up, one full week prior to the Spring Clean Up week. Recology will be advertising the Spring Clean Up in advance so that all Residential and Multi-Family customers will be able to take advantage of this free service.

A Multi-Family Residence consists of a multi-unit residential or commercial complex including hotels and care facilities with five or more units.

Opening a new account:
You are required to visit our office. Please bring a valid ID card to set up or change your account. Call our office to learn more about our service.

Closing your account:
Contact us either by phone, email or visit us at our office. You are responsible for any service rendered until your account is closed.

Recycle Collection:
You can conveniently place all your recyclables into one container. With single-stream recycling, you can mix your newspaper, junk mail, magazines, office paper, paperboard and cardboard with your plastic, Styrofoam, aluminum and glass containers.

Brush Collection:
With Recology's optional brush collection program, you can put yard trimmings such as leaves, brush and grass, into the green brush container. Your brush will be composted or used for fuel instead of thrown away.

Trash Collection:
All Items that cannot be placed in the recycle or brush collection cart or bin go into the trash. Remember, everything that you place in the trash goes directly into the landfill.

Multi-Family service can be set up as either residential cart service or commercial bin service. Please contact our office so we can help you set up your individual trash service needs.

The same day, every week!
New collection services provided by Recology will utilize fully automated collection vehicles that operate a mechanical arm to lift the carts, making service faster and more efficient. To help us better serve you, we ask that you follow these guidelines.

Place carts curbside in the street for service by 6 am on your weekly service day, with the wheels against the curb and the arrows on the lid pointed toward the street. Space your carts approximately 3 feet apart. Make sure the lids of your carts are closed and your cart is not over full, to prevent material from falling out as it is serviced. If you live on a street without a curb, place the carts on the roadside, 3 feet apart, and facing toward the street. Please do not bungee or tie your lids closed. Doing so will prevent your cart from being serviced.

Recology Del Norte is excited to provide a better way of providing your Recycle, and Trash services. We have also added an optional Brush Collection service to help you manage your yard trimmings. Our program has been designed to make things easier for you and healthier for everyone's environment. We hope they encourage you to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle!

And Remember: all three carts are picked up on the same day, every week! All holiday collection will be scheduled one day later then your normal collection day when the holiday falls on a week day. Please see our holiday schedule for more information.

Metal Bins:
Continue to use your existing metal bins. Beginning July 2011, Recology Del Norte will re-label them to reflect our new trash, recycling, and brush collection services. You don't need to do anything; it will happen automatically.

Technical Assistance:
Have you gone through your trash lately? By recycling, you can significantly reduce your amount of trash and could downsize your trash container or service - and the cost. We will provide on-site technical assistance to help you determine the most cost effective trash collection, recycle and brush Collection programs available to meet your specific needs.

Multi-Family bins are available in a variety of sizes. The most common sized bins are listed below.* However, larger bins including 10, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yards are also available. Contact us for more information.
