Beyond the Cart for Multi-Family Residents
Holiday Trees
December 26th to January 31st
This is a free service for all residential and multi-family customers. Once you've removed all the tinsel, lights, decorations, and stands from your holiday tree, contact us to schedule a removal. You can leave the tree next to your trash cart by 6am, on your regularly scheduled collections day during the weeks of December 26th to January 31th.
Please make sure your trees are 6 feet and shorter. If the tree is taller than 6 feet, cut the tree into lengths of 6 feet or less.
Property Managers
You can request a bin or drop box for leftover trees. Contact us to schedule a time for a route supervisor to determine the best location to place the bin or drop box, or an area for a consolidation of loose trees. Once a location has been identified, that information will be saved and future visits won't be necessary.

Bulky Item Removal
For every 1 cubic yard of un-compacted, or 2 cubic yards of compacted un-recyclable trash service, the multi-family complex is eligible for two bulky item collections in a 12 month period. Example, a 4 cubic yard trash bin service collected weekly would be eligible for up to eight free bulky item collections annually, potentially scheduled over two dates during the same year. This can be applied after 90 days of continuous service or from the last scheduled bulky item pick up.
Bulky items accepted are:
Items NOT accepted are liquids, dirt, rock, concrete or asphalt, hazardous or infections waste, and materials that exceed 5 feet in length. No extra bags of garbage will be collected unless the customer calls to schedule a bulky item collection in advance.
Once you've used up your 2 free annual collections, we will provide further services for an additional fee. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
Property Managers
We recommend choosing a date for your entire building or complex that is convenient for residents ahead of time. Have them communicate to you which items they want picked up, and give us a call so our staff can determine the best service to fit your needs and a collection will be scheduled. OR, help reduce your carbon footprint even further and consider organizing a building-wide yard sale. Neighbors can get together to sell or exchange items with each other and the public. Yard sales are a great way to keep unwanted items out of the trash and give them a second life. They also offer a fun way for everyone to find terrific deals and for neighbors to meet each other.
Donating
Before contacting us to schedule a pick-up, please consider donating to any number of local non-profits and community groups. This can reduce the waste stream and provide a second life for the items you are discarding.
- One large appliance such as a refrigerator or freezer (counts as two bulky items)
- A bulky item such as mattresses, furniture, dishwasher, washing machine, or clothes dryer, stove
- Up to 9 bags (1.5 cubic yards) of trash
- One E-Waste item weighing no more than 100 lbs. Such as computers, computer monitor or television
- Holiday Trees

Tips for Property Managers
By recycling more and throwing away less, you can save money on your trash costs. And green is the thing! Tenants want to live on a property that does its part to reduce its carbon footprint. The following helpful tips can make it easier for you - and your property - successfully go green!
Recycling needs to be just as convenient as taking out the trash - it's the law.
Keep recycling and Brush Collection carts and bins located in secure, well-lit locations in the same area as the trash. This makes it easy for residents to empty their buddy bags and kitchen pails when they take out their trash.
Be sure to keep Recycle and Brush Collection containers in addition to trash containers in common areas such as the lobby, club house, mail room or laundry room. This way you reduce the chance of contamination.
Make sure that your Recycle, Brush Collection and trash carts and bins are clearly labeled with instructions for what items go into which containers. You can download free Recycle, Brush Collection and trash posters below or contact us and we'll get you some.
Spread the Word
Provide information to your neighbors and residents on an ongoing basis about recycling and Brush Collection, and keep them informed about any changes. Use multiple means of getting the message out: tenant meetings, e-letters and signage near the recycling bins and in common areas. Provide recycling information to all new residents when they move in. Recycling messages should be simple, clear, accurate, and consistent.
Consider designating a "Recycling Captain."
Volunteers can act as Building or Floor Captains who help educate residents in their building or on their floors about the programs, answer questions, and help build a "team effort" atmosphere. They can also help out by checking recycling containers for contaminants and help residents who have difficulty carrying recyclables to the collection area.
Talk to us!
We are more than happy to answer any questions you have about our various programs, provide signage materials, technical assistance, or just good advice on how to get your building recycling better. We'll even come to your property to give a presentation on the importance of recycling and how to do it correctly. We're here to help!
