Hard to Recycle Items
There are several items that we can't take in our recycling program, but we don't want to see them end up in the landfill either. Many of these items can be taken to special recycling locations, or reused by local businesses.
You can also check with RecycleWorks for a database of where to recycle items, as well as where to buy green.

Plastic Bags:
Did you know?
Each year, an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide. That comes out to over one million per minute. In the State of California, 600 plastic bags are thrown away every second. Hundreds of thousands of sea turtles, whales and other marine mammals die every year from eating discarded plastic bags mistaken for food. In a landfill, plastic bags take up to 1,000 years to degrade. As litter, the bags breakdown into tiny bits, contaminating our soil and water. You can recycle your plastic bags in the recycle cart or drop them off at Julindra Recycling.
